Congressional Petition to
End Birthright Citizenship
Whereas, this nation is overrun with uncounted illegal aliens, estimated to be forty million or more, about whom our government knows nothing (nationality, criminal record, diseases, etc…,) and
Whereas, among this population, illegal alien women, presumably from Mexico, are filling our hospital maternity wards as they give birth to an astounding 350-400,000 babies annually, at taxpayers’ expense, due to a gross misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment, and
Whereas, Sen. Jacob M. Howard, an author of the 14th Amendment, stated, in 1868, that "This [bill] will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners ...", and
Whereas, under the misapplication of the 14th Amendment, once an illegal alien baby is born, it becomes an instant citizen, entitled to the full range of government welfare services … for life, while the mother, although here illegally, is never deported because of her status as a parent of the new citizen, and
Whereas, the cost of anchor babies, in just Los Angeles county, now exceeds one half billion per year -- with the total costs of illegal aliens in Los Angeles pegged at $1.6 billion, and
Whereas, if this misinterpretation of our Constitution is not remedied quickly, the American people could soon become a minority in their own country,
Therefore, we, the undersigned citizens demand that the Congress immediately pass H.R.140, the Birthright Citizenship Act which stipulates that, at a minimum, one parent of any child, born on U.S. soil, has to be a U.S citizen in order for the child to be granted citizenship.
